Adrian is joined by the returning champion and political scientist at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, Jairus, to talk about his book, Savage Ecology: War and Geopolitics at the End of the World. After spending just a little bit of time lamenting about their lives after 40 yrs on this planet, Adrian confesses to Jairus that he has been listening to more Alex Jones lately. That naturally spirals into lamenting other bizarre realities of the world today, including white nationalism around the world. Adrian is joined by one of the luthiers, Kilin. Don’t worry, Adrian didn’t know what a luthier was either. We get to learn more about Hawaiian music history and ukuleles than you ever knew you wanted to know. Kilin, an amazing musician in his own right, has dedicated the last several years to learning the history of his favorite guitar, the Martin Dreadnought, and its relation to Hawaii. We learn about some of the ole timey Hawaiian musicians that took Hawaiian music out to the world and how that shaped popular American music more than many people may know. Kilin was so inspired by his research that he started his own non-profit organization, The Kealakai Center for Pacific Strings, to bring more Hawaiian music and its history to the community.

Adrian was just happy to get out of the house on a weeknight to the more relaxing event that is the National Day of Prayer at the Hawaii State Capitol where thee “Historian” David Barton happened to be speaking. Mr. Barton was kind enough to answer some questions regarding school prayer and the hardships of what it is like to be a white, christian man in America today where they have only MOST of the positions of power but not ALL of them. Mr. Barton is a smart and articulate man and does not put up with much of Adrian’s dumb sh*t. Adrian sits down with one of the american teenagers, Isaiah, who happens to be Adrian’s nephew in the eyes of the law. Adrian married Isaiah’s hot aunt, giving Isaiah his very own Mexican uncle! Adrian is excited to be in America's South for the first time, joined by his little brother, Christian. We get to hear their rationale for deciding to do that as well as learn a little about a day in the life of a mormon missionary. Adrian challenges a couple of the claims of Joseph Smith regarding native americans being descendants of people that sailed from Jerusalem c.600 BCE, as well as other things that never happened. We also get to hear a 72 yr old missionary come tell Adrian to leave them alone. Adrian works his charm and we get to hear even more baseless faith claims. Adrian is welcomed to the home of one of the loveliest of the white people, author and environmentalist, Stuart. We learn a little about Stuart growing up in the south and about some of the work he now does as regional manager for the Hawaii chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. Stuart also authored thee biography of Hawaii's surfing legend and waterman, Eddie Aikau, and he tells us how cool it was to be at the most recent Quicksilver Eddie Aikau big-wave surf competition with the Aikau family. Adrian goes to the Hawaii state capitol to crash Franklin Graham's prayer rally. We get to hear Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, long for a time when most americans were white, protestant christians who got to exert overwhelming dominance over our culture and politics, and when politicians were proud to base laws on the old testament. ...you know, the good ol days. He also warns us of the evil threat of secularism. Its hilarious! Adrian also talks to a guy with a huge wooden cross who replaced his cocaine addiction with a whole lotta jesus!!

Adrian sits down with one of the ex-muslims, Marisa, who tells us about being raised as a muslim girl in Tennessee and running away from home at 13, just to get things started. After talking a little Married-with-children, Marisa shares with us a pretty novel 'growing up' story, but before things could get productive, Adrian just proceeds to sh*t on islam. Things stay weird, but then they almost go ahead and solve that whole ISIS thing. ....almost.

Adrian is happy to be back in the San Fernando Valley to sit down with his cousin Ozzie to bust balls n crack wise. Ozzie was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and he tells us about what that has meant for him as a man and the father of two little girls. They reminisce just a bit, Adrian makes fun of his tattoos and religion, and takes advantage that Ozzie is hopped up on meds. Ozzie talking about ending up handy-capable is not completely depressing as he tells us about a new treatment he had just started to help his body rebuild. Here's hopin.

Adrian is quite excited that one of his favorite musical artists, Chris Murray, accepted his random Facebook invitation to do some pod! We sit down with Chris at a park bench in Honolulu with a six pack and we talk story. We learn about Chris growing up in Toronto, playing the reggae around the world and some of his broader views on some aspects of society. The guy is wise beyond his years. We also take a break to hear a couple sweet jams off the Chris Murray Combo album Why So Rude.

Adrian is happy, but a little reluctant, to get schooled on the whole GMO/Pesticide thing going on in Hawaii. His friend, The Ag-tivist, Ashley, is the Director at the Hawaii Center for Food Safety and she tells us about the influx of chemical-agricultural companies taking up prime Ag land and spraying pesticides near schools.  ...so Alooooooo-ha!  Ashley also tells us about the unique role Hawaii plays in this whole debate and updates us on the current legal battle taking place on Maui. She has some great insight into a debate that just got a whole lot less complicated. 

Adrian is stoked to join one of Honolulu's premier comedians, Jose Dynamite, at the ever-so-awesome O'Toole's pub to talk about waaaaaay too much, starting with his successful stand-up career, as an appetizer. ...Jose Dynamite then plops some serious parenting "knowledge" onto Adrian's lil head, most of which is unethical, but that doesnt matter to either of these rediculous dads. Get ready to learn nothing you've ever wanted to know about raising stepkids, GD teenagers, and how hard to hit them. Jose is also the intertron's youngest GRANDPAS, so there's also some useless knowledge for all you future grandparents out there...

Adrian is in the heart of downtown Honolulu to learn more about the city's scandolous past from his new friend, Carter. She is the creator and tour guide for The Honolulu Exposed Tours, the WW II Red-Light District Tour. After learning a little about how the hell Carter ended up in Honolulu, we hop into the time machine and Carter takes us a simpler time, when the booze was cheap, prostitutes were even cheaper and sailors took full advantage. Carter gives us great insight as to some of the lesser-known goings-on of this great city and somehow, just by hearing these stories, Adrian got the clap.

Adrian comes out of the house, not the closet, with his wife, Caitlin, and his son, Ruben, to check out the Honolulu Pride Parade. They do a little color commentary on the parade, talk about the upcoming birth of their 2nd son, and throw in a little talk about Caitlyn Jenner for good measure. Adrian then interviews one of the fundamentalist christians that are also at the parade to remind everyone that they are gonna burn in hell if they dont stop with all the gay.

Adrian is happy to welcome back Thee Intertron's favorite nerd, Jairus, to tackle all the major questions in life, like why asparagus makes your pee smell funny, but then, they lighten things up a bit by solving everything going on in the middle east. ...iraq, afghaneestan, ISIS, you name it, done! Adrian sits down with one of the gay guys, Michael, and we are told a little about when Michael realized he wasnt quite like the other boys. Michael tells Adrian about his life as a political activist, fighting for marriage equality in Hawaii, reparative therapy and his time working on the Pride Parade in Honolulu. He also takes a couple questions from a born-again christian guy.

Adrian is welcomed to the ever-so-generous, Dr. Darrel Ray's condo while he is on his Hawaiian vacation to talk about the harm religious guilt has on people's sexuality. They also cover a little of the good Dr's background and his polyamorous lifestyle. Adrian realizes that he wants to be polyamorous and is hoping the Dr can talk to his wife for him.

Adrian is so happy to have on one of the Koreans to finally solve that whole North Korea thing. His friend, Sunny, is a successful, korean immigrant who is happy to talk with Adrian about being an immigrant teenager, racism, growing up really christian, masturbation, leaving christianity, going to college, and finally masturbating, among other things. They finally get to talk about when Sunny went to North Korea to teach statistics to the children of the elite. ....so that solves that.

Adrian is very excited to be invited to the offices of Civil Beat Hawaii to talk with reporter Nick Grube about his background, the state of journalism and homelessness in Hawaii. News flash - Nick is quite diplomatic and articulate, while Adrian demonstrates his lack of journalistic integrity.

Adrian welcomes his new friend, Liza, to the compound where we get to know a little about her growing up with a pastor as a dad. She gives us a good horror story from her days as a young, christian missionary in Europe followed by a terrible reason for not being with the guy she loves. Adrian then gets to know more about her religious views but ends up more confused than before the interview.

Adrian is happy to continue his conversation with the combat veteran, Bryson. We last left Bryson as he had gotten back from Iraq and now its time to settle back into civilian life, and, naturally, head off to Afghanistan. After hearing about his year there, Bryson tells us about coming back and using World of Warcraft, Subway sandwiches and eHarmony to help get him back to normal.

Adrian was welcomed to the home of his new buddy, Bryson, the Iraq/Afghanistan veteran and hoorah did Adrian end up feelin patriotic, sort of....  Adrian feels the need to thoroughly describe Bryson's home before they finally get to some war stories. However, Bryson first tells us a little about his less-than-awesome childhood, which just makes his success that much more inspirational.

Adrian is happy to end up inthe offices of the ACLU Hawaii to talk with the Director of Outreach, Kit. We get to know a little about Kit and she then proceeds to school Adrian on a couple issues near n dear to his heart, pot laws and church-state separation. Adrian tries to not make a complete ass of himself and has limited success.

Adrian is stoked to be in a real-life radio station, welcomed by his future friend, Fernando the Love Machine. Fernando is an entertainer of many-a-media and Adrian makes the big mistake of trying to compare himself to Fernando. They talk a little about Fernando's coming-up, then talk a little stand-up comedy, marriage, parenting and other gross stuff. Adrian then finally beats Fernando at all the wrong things. ....you'll see.

Adrian coerces his sister, Nydia, to sit down with him to tell us all about a weird relationship she had back in the day. That catches Nydia off guard and Adrian is forced to fill in the gritty details. They then move on to the more pleasant topic of her recent divorce. Fret not, things do not stay super depressing the whole way through.

Adrian sits down with Thee Intertron's favorite nerd, Jairus, and they cover some of Jairus' deep personality flaws, including why he doesn't drink alcohol. They then band together to heap some judgement on Jenny McCarthy and the anti-vaccers. Jairus then kicks it up to another level, cuz he's good at that.

Adrian sits down with his new friend, Brandi, and Adrian finally gets some insight into being a part of the LGBT community. We learn a little about where Brandi grew up, her stand-up comedy, some of the haters, and how happy she is to finally get to live her life. Adrian then reluctantly reveals one of his gay experiences, just to try to jump on the band-wagon.

Adrian welcomes his new friend, Dallas, to the compound to probe her as much as she is willing to be probed, which it turns out is a lot. We learn a little bit about her growing up chunky, being a single white chick on the island and some of the issues, and i mean Issues, that are keeping her single. Adrian ends up cautiously optimimistic about the future of Dallas

The christian guy, Steve, was kind enough to come back on the show to talk religion with Adrian, and that's where the kindness starts to fade. Steve clarifies some of his views on what the bible says and Adrian ends up more confused on his views afterwards than he was before the interview. ....and hearing Steve justify slavery gets pretty interesting. Steve then shares his views on gay marriage and abortion and sh*t gets even more interesting. ....good times.

Adrian sits down with his ex-mormon friend, Rex, who was quite happy to explain to Adrian the details of what it was like to grow up in a devout mormon family and go on his mission trip, all just to find out that Joseph Smith was totally full of crap. Luckily for Rex, the mormon didnt stick and he and Adrian talk drugs, premarital sex, dead relatives watching them masturbate and Adrian tells his story of going into the mormon temple on Oahu.

Adrian sits down with his old neighbor, Jairus, the smartest dude Adrian knows, which actually isnt saying much, but still. They talk a little parenting, Adrian suddenly decides to sh*t on the Duggars and we talk about Jairus' own christian upbringing. Jairus then fails at random trivia but still gets to demonstrate some of his random knowledge and Jairus gets to bum everyone out talking about drone attacks. ....good times.

Adrian sits down with his father-in-law, Cortland, in Colorado. We learn about him growing up in New Jersey, going to Woodstock, monogamy and winning Round 1 vs The Cancer.

Adrian welcomes himself back and pretends you asked him, "What's new?"  He then dives right back into the deep end with his philosopher friend, Matt. They talk about how Matt enjoys being a single white-boy trying to date asian chicks in Hawaii. Matt then talks about growing up in a small town in Ohio and never meeting his dad, which leads terribly into conversation about the mind and soul.

Adrian's little brother returns with an update on his Hawaii life and gives a couple good 'Waiter Horror Stories'. They also pretend they're catholic again and confess their disgusting sins to each other. You might wanna grab a towel. Adrian then wraps up season 1 of the show with his super medium-sized plans.

Adrian starts off by telling his mom not to listen to the show. We then get to know Adrian's friend from elementary school. She dishes on how Adrian's cousin, Ozzie, broke her little heart and we then hear how Julie became a young widow.

Adrian starts off with a quick complaint about 'tropical jungle living', which is just as frikn rediculous as it sounds. Then he and his token black friend, Ray, set race relations back a couple of decades. We get to know a little about Ray growing up and now dating-while-black here in Hawaii.

Adrian does some heavy lifting this week as he sits down with an old-earth creationist, born-again christian guy, Steve. This episode is not for the faint of heart, but this guy's story and beliefs make for a fascinating listen.

Adrian starts off with an update on how that whole "living vicariously through his little brother" thing is working out for him. While next week's episode will provide a little more conflict (for those waiting for that), as Adrian sits down with a born-again christian guy, this week is a family love-fest with Adrian's little brother, Christian. Adrian coerces Christian into telling everyone what an awesome big brother he was and they share some war stories from the baptist school their parents sent them to. They then finish up with Christian's confession of his senior prank and they just hope that the statute of limitations is up.

Adrian flies solo this week because he just wants to show off. He starts with his thoughts about his little brother, Christian, moving in with him and his family, and sets up one of his songs in his 'douchbag radio-DJ' voice. Adrian then sets up his next song with a quick tirade on the apocalypse. ....yes, that apocalypse!

Adrian starts off with a couple of his new favorite activities - bragging and parent judging! ...but just before he gets too obnoxious he puts himself back in check with a humiliating story of one of the times that he pissed his bed. Then we get to know Adrian's wife and some of her life choices that resulted in her married to this guy. She isnt too brutal when she rates Adrian as a husband and a father. ...and after you hear some of her ideas on parenting, you will at least be relieved that Adrian will not be able to screw-up their son, Ruben, toooo badly.  (....but we'll see)

In this episode Adrian gets to know Kevin, a father of two little girls.  One of his girls, Jade, is very present and manages to find every musical instrument in the house. She provides the soundtrack while we learn about Kevin growing up in So Cal with religous parents and losing his virginity in a jacuzzi. We discuss some of the bigger questions involved in parenting.....none of which are answered in a responsible manner.

Adrian sits down with his recently engaged, actor friend visiting Hawaii from LA. A couple beers while poolside and Adrian's son, Ruben, freakin out makes for the perfect setting to get to know Mike....where he's from, why he likes playing 'Make believe' for a living and what his penis thinks about him getting engaged.

While people can be annoying, individuals and their stories can be interesting and relatable. The Intelligently Resigned Show is one dude's attempt to get at those stories. I sit down in all kinds of settings to talk to all kinds of people about all kinds of things. I utilize my 'How the hell did you end up here' style of interview to learn about where my guest grew up, if their parents were pricks, if they got laid in high school, and what the hell they are up to now.......you know, the important stuff. In the process, we learn about their views and I find inopportune moments to crow-bar in my own stories and opinions. So set your standards to "Low" and get to know some of the interesting people I've met along the way.
